LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky’s two senators, a congressman and the state’s Republican Party plan to donate to charity contributions they received from an embattled lobbyist and the Indian tribes that hired him.

Republican Sen. Jim Bunning said in a written statement Thursday morning that he would send the $1,000 Jack Abramoff gave his 2004 re-election campaign to the St. Elizabeth Medical Center’s new inpatient hospice program.

“Even though these contributions were handled legitimately and within the law, they are tainted by a guy who is simply bad news,” Bunning said.
